Rothsay commenced underground mining in late 2020 and comprises two declines, with ore being mined via long-hole stoping methods using custom-made equipment.Reporting to the General Manager, the Senior OHS Advisor will be primarily responsible for OHS service at our Rothsay Gold Mine. The position will coordinate our mining operations' safety and critical risk programs and help continuously improve the safety management systems.The position will be offered as an 8:6, 4:3 FIFO roster from Perth.Key responsibilities of this role will include:Implement the Rothsay Mine Safety Management System & Emergency Management Plans (EMP) and other related system requirements.Monitor, review, audit and improve the risk profile and compliance.Coordinate and conduct routine workplace inspections, audits and maintenance inspections of all workplaces.Conduct or participate in risk assessments (including high risk tasks) of work activities and monitor compliance to these risk assessments.Actively monitor and report employee and contractor performance against Vault Minerals high risk work standards when performing high risk tasks.Facilitate and lead in drafting and presenting accident/incident investigations (ICAM & minor investigations) and reports as required.              Complete applicable statutory reports for the Department of Industry Resources as directed by the OHS Superintendent.Implement and review of OHS policies and procedures, ensuring that where applicable other operations are also covered.Appointed person for the Training Needs Analysis matrix, ensuring that mines procedural coverage is documented across all employees and ensure that the OHS Administrator is updated regarding any changes made.Ensure site compliance with the Vault Minerals Contractor Management System.Completing the monthly and weekly datasets for input in the OHS compliance reports.Provide input at Toolbox Meetings and Pre-start meetings and ensure records are kept.ABOUT YOUThe successful candidate will possess the following:At least 3 years of prior experience as a WHS Advisor in an underground mining environment or a similar field.Hold recognised qualification Diploma in OHS, Cert 4 in WHS or Certificate IV of Workplace Assessing and Training.Extensive knowledge and understanding of the W.A Work Health and Safety Act 2020, Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 and associated regulatory advisory material.Demonstrates excellent attention to detail, along with strong organisational and clear report-writing skills.Ability to solve problems with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential safety concerns.Strong communication abilities are essential, as the role requires effective collaboration with various stakeholders to foster a culture of safety.Ability to conduct Audits, Investigations, and Workplace InspectionsProficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite with strong computer literacy & demonstrated experience in INX software is essentialICAM, Tap-Root Investigation Training, and Leader Auditor Certification are highly desirable.Current WA "C" Class driver’s licence.An industry-benchmarked salary and the opportunity to join an established, stable, and financially secure company are on offer to attract people who want to make a long-term commitment to an organisation. OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS:As part of our recruitment process, we require a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen and a National Police Clearance.If you would like to join us on our growth journey, please apply now.Vaults Minerals kindly requests that agencies do not send unsolicited resumes unless specifically invited to do so.
